Puppies May Not Love Shots, But Shelters Do

Dave (shown right) doesn’t look too excited about getting his shots, but the folks at the Estill County Animal Shelter in Ravenna, KY, were delighted to receive a grant from A Shot At Life program

The puppy is “a sample of the kids that you and your company helped remain healthy,” wrote Ellen Frederick. “Thanks for your help. I don't know what I would have done without it.”

Dave’s shots and those of other puppies in the care of the shelter came courtesy of the new program jointly sponsored by The Animal Rescue Site, Petfinder Foundation, and Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, Inc..

“The Animal Rescue Site is proud to have Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, Inc., as a partner,” said Liz Baker, executive director of  “We believe together we can give shelter pets a better chance of finding homes by keeping them healthy with vaccinations.”

The program aims to vaccinate two million pets in shelters in the next two years.
