Pocatello Covers Feral Cat Traps With Challenge Win

Thanks to supporters who voted every day at The Animal Rescue, the Pocatello Animal Shelter in Idaho received a $1,000 state prize in the first Shelter Challenge of 2013.

The shelter staff decided to use this grant to purchase canvas cat trap covers for the safe cat trapping program. The canvas covers are specially designed by the shelter to fit the safe cat traps, allowing the animals to be protected from the weather while in the trap.

“We appreciate the public’s help to make the conditions for animals the best possible,” said Mary Remer, Animal Control Director.

She added, “Thanks again for this opportunity. I am amazed at the camaraderie this brings to our community as they vote for us.”

The Animal Rescue Site’s Shelter Challenge began in 2008. Since then, the program has given more than $1.3 million to groups in all fifty states, Canada, Costa Rica, and parts of the Caribbean.
