2011 Accomplishments: Improving the health of children

Partners In HealthApproximately fifteen different nonproft groups* devoted to improving the health of children received grants from GreaterGood.org in 2011.

The largest single beneficiary was Partners In Health. GreaterGood.org grants to this organization focused on fighting cholera in Haiti, vitamin A supplements (which prevent blindness, among other infant diseases), and oral rehydration.

GreaterGood.org funding also went to A Child’s Right, Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, HALO Trust, Hand Eye Fund, PATH, Prosthetics Outreach Foundation, and more.

In 2011, GreaterGood.org gave more than $3.1 million to 111 charities operating in the  United States and worldwide. Grants for children’s health programs were funded by The Child Health Site, the Gifts That Give More [tm] program, and other donations.

*Additional grants went to women’s health groups concentrating on prenatal care and safe delivery of infants. Many 2011 grants made to organizations for hunger and poverty relief are targeted at helping children receive nutritious meals.
