Rosie was a feral cat that wondered the huge acerage around my place of work for 8+ years. Even though she was never approachable or touchable, she was always within view and became our “Corporate Cat” … official mouse remover, parking lot patrol, and door greeter. When new management deemed her a “safety hazard” and made plans to have her “removed” (aka exterminated), the employees rallied together and formed the “Save Rosie Group” …trying to convince management of the benefits of her being allowed to stay on the property. After many meetings, it soon became apprarent that her safety was still at risk, so I volunteered to try and make friends with her and take her home (I have a large cat enclosure for my other “cat kids”). That very day, as if she knew something was up and I was there to help, she let me touch her. Two weeks to the day, she met me half way up the ramp, I picked her up and put her in the carrier… no fuss, no muss, no trap, and no trama. I don’t know who was more shocked … Rosie or me. Now, 5 months have past and Rosie has become one of the most loving, content, lap cats I ever had the honor of knowing. She has moved inside with the family (though she still really enjoys her cat palace, sun shine and bird watching from a high hide), and has been accepted by my other cat kids... especially Tyson, who has been by her side for this whole adventure.

Her coat has become silky soft, her paws are no longer rough from walking the pavement, and she has found her voice … a sweet little chirp she uses to say “good morning, where’s my Tuna”.
